Bridgnorth
Brewing Company
The Bridgnorth Brewing Company is one of Shropshire's newest breweries
and commenced production in late 2006. It has been formed by two local
men and one Black Country Brewer who are passionate about their town
and ale. Directors Richard Beaman, Simon Lucas and Andrew Brough are
reviving a long forgotten brewery.
The Bridgnorth Brewery can be found in the heart of Bridgnorth's High
Town, situated in an idyllic location steeped in history and tradition
occupying the site of an old Brew House with records tracing back as
far as the 1600's. A brewery that would have supplied its own Tap House
and local Inns in and around the market town.
It is the intention of the new brewery to bring back its original
legacy to create a fine range of locally brewed ales to the newly opened
Tap House, to the Town and to the countrside.
The Brewery is designed to produce good quality ales at a high standard
and consistent basis using traditional brewing methods, which includes
a double drop fermenting system, used by Victorian brewers for a special
rare two-stage fermentation process. Head Brewer Andrew Brough chooses
the ingrediaents with care and attention. Local hops from Hereford
and Worcester are sourced and a mixture of malt from a local farm and
maltster give local pride and a distinctive easy drinking experience
associated with Bridgnorth Ales.
